The trail begins from the small town of Isella that, with its characteristic buildings made with the Block Bau technique, shows it Walser origin. Isella was once set between two branches of Anza river, that surrounded it as an island. This characteristic small town took its name from this peculiarity.
The trail begins here and goes up in the woods until Motta and then Quarazza. In 1952 the dam was completed, blocking Quarazza river, giving birth to what was later called Fate lake (lake of fairies). The building of the dam caused a raise in the water level, almost entirely submerging the town of Quarazza, just like it often happened in Ossola to produce hydroelectric power.
The track then follows the naturalistic trail that goes up to Bletz alp and proceeds halfway until a hollow in the terrain that, during rainy seasons, works as basin for what it’s called Secco lake (dry lake) or Siewii. The trail then proceeds in the woods until it goes down along the dirt road of GTA, taking back to Isella.
