The trail starts from Cossogno town where the mule track begins and, following the shape of San Bernardino creek, reaches the town of Cicogna.
Along the way, a short detour takes to the abandoned town of Miunchio, called “the court of Miui”.
Miunchio was the woodland court of the inhabitants of Cossogno, here they used to make honey, in fact every house had a place to keep the beehives.
The trail proceeds along the paved track: it was built in ‘800, wide and well preserved, but it completely lacks protections in the tracts along the creek, which flows many meters below.
Where Pogallo creek and Val Grande creek meet, giving birth to San Bernardino creek, three bridges are present: the aerial gangway of the water conduit, a pedestrian bridge and a vehicle bridge. The last two are named Ponte Casletto and were both destroyed during the battles between German troops and partisans in June 1944, where the most brutal sweep of this zone took place.
