Crodo, aside from being an important spa resort, famous for its mineral waters, Crodino and Lemonsoda, also boasts numerous trails among woods and alps.
From the ancient town of Mozzio, which was annexed to Crodo in 1928, starts the itinerary that leads to Viceno, where the Casa Museo della Montagna (Museum house of the mountain) can be visited. The trail in the cool pinewood, that leads to Foppiano, became famous for the large rocks used by climbers for “bouldering”, a kind of climb born in the 70s. The most characteristic boulder of this area is found along the trail that climbs up to Camplero alp: it’s the Sass Fendù (slit stone in dialect), so called because of its particular crack.
Along the trail, and in particular from the plains to the ancient pastures, one can enjoy an amazing landscape on Valle Antigorio.
