A spur of rock with an incredible panoramic sight on the Lake Maggiore basin, the “slim” bank and the Rocca di Angera.
This short itinerary starts in Lavarina di Nebbiuno and allows to reach, through a trail deep in the woods, an extraordinary panoramic point of Vergante.
On this promontory there are two main elements: the Sasso del Pizzo (stone of the peak) and mount Croce.
The Sass dal Pizz is a cup and ring marked stone, this means that on its surface, in the prehistoric era, some cups were carved into the stone. Following the most recent hypothesis, they were used during pagan rites to gather water or liquids.
Mount Croce has, as its name suggests, a white cross standing out on the hill facing Lake Maggiore. Here is also present an equipped area making this place ideal for a break with panorama!
