This trail starts from Ausone and quickly reaches the tunnel that leads to Agaro dam.
At the tunnel’s entrance the temporized lights can be turned on (30 minutes). The tunnel, with its 1.5 km  of length that can be covered in 15/20 minutes, goes by the water pipe that goes from the lake’s basin to the power plant.
The dam can be reached avoiding the tunnel, following the old trail dug in the rock and crossing a creek.
This trail is way more panoramic, but some sections require attention (to be chosen with discretion… remembering that only the steinbocks can go everywhere!).
Once the dam’s top has been reached the trail goes along the azure water of the lake.

This lake hides inside of it an ancient Walser village (Ager) that was covered by the water in 1938, when the dam was built by Edison to take advantage of hydroelectric power.
When the dam is emptied, or in some periods of low water, the houses’ roofs and the old church’s steeple emerge from the water.
