The itinerary begins from the hamlet Coiromonte of Armeno, the northernmost town of the province of Novara.
The trail moves among woods, creeks and pastures until it reaches the “tre montagnette” (three little mounts), a popular name of Monte Falò, characterized, as a matter of fact, by three humps facing the valley of Agogna.
From these bald mounts the panorama towards Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and the nearby peak of Mottarone can be seen. These places were honored during the centuries by many scholars, sportsmen and people loving nature and beauty in its widest sense. “That large painting where the beauties of nature almost summarize, shocking and glorifying the mind in a wonderful way!”: this is how Mottarone was defined by the painter Bossoli.
The trail passes through Alpe Mazzasca, Alpe Vallelunga, Alpe Torona and Alpe Fei, crossing many small creeks that pour into the lower river Agogna, which are: Rivo Decchia, Rivo Selvaronda, Rivo Mazzasca, Rivo Altino, Rivo Malora, Rivo Giretta-Porco, Rivo Piola and Rivo della Piova.
