The province of Varese is mainly a hilly territory, facing the east coast of Lake Maggiore. It is extremely rich in history and the lake, with its waterways, has promoted the development of industries and trades, an example of which are the furnaces of Ispra.
The minor lakes of the province display traces of paleolithic inhabitants, so much that Lake Varese and Lake Monate are UNESCO’s Human Heritage. Comabbio and Varese lakes are a very popular destination for walkers and bike riders, thanks to the pedestrian and cycle walkway that embraces them among amazing landscapes and small wooden bridges.
On Lake Maggiore you discover the beauty of Italian landscapes.
