The itinerary starts from Scareno, a hamlet of Aurano, in Valle Intrasca and follows the ancient mule track that, crossing the Ponte del Dragone (bridge of the dragon), reaches Piaggia. In Piaggia, a typical pre-alpine pasture, the association “Il Dragone di Piaggia” (the dragon of Piaggia) is currently active, working since 2013 to recover, preserve and valorize the pasture, its natural environment and its traditions.

In the surroundings of Piaggia there was a small gold mine and, in the vicinity of San Giovanni creek, there is a millstone that is supposed to have been used to work the auriferous mineral.
