The itinerary develops in the territory of Masera, in a constant alternation of rural landscape, characterized by stone houses and cultivated meadows, and among large villas and rural houses that witness the wealth of those rich inhabitants of Ossola who came back to their lands to enjoy the outcomes of their enterprising activities abroad.

The itinerary crosses some towns placed along the sweet slope closed between the rivers Isorno and Melezzo Occidentale. These housing clusters are rich with proofs of that rural civilization that lived and cultivated the land in these places, leaving spontaneous architectures like the wine presses and the town ovens, in addition to the esteemed vineyards of Masera.

The path develops along ancient mule tracks and trails in the woods among the towns of Casa Brencio, San Rocco, Ranco, Rivoira, crosses the dam on the artificial lake of Onzo and proceeds towards Avonso, Sant’Antonio, Rogna, Cresta, Menogno and reaches the plain of Masera, characterized by pastures and scattered rural buildings.
